Situated at the bank of River Chenab, Reasi was a part of the Bhimgarh state established by Bhim Dev in 18 century AD. The name Reasi is derived from the town’s old name “Rasyal”. Reasi is one of the Eight, newly created Districts in the State, which came in to existence from Ist of April 2007.
